My Publix List 3/26 - 4/1

1. Publix Takes Competitors Coupons.
2. On B1G1, use two coupons (you are getting two items.)
3. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price (In FL you do have to buy both items. Check with your local store, though) Please note, my calculations are for stores that DO NOT double coupons buying two items.
4. Always combine store and mfr coupons when you can (even a store coupon from a competitor store.)
5. Many Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are $.50 or less (Tallahassee and most FL locations do not!)
6. Some Publix sales start Wednesday to Tuesday, others are Thursday to Wednesday. Call your local Publix for their sale dates.

.
*Sadly, I do not see any competitor $/$$ coupons you can use. If you know of any, please comment below.
.
*Don't forget to slide your UPromise Card for long term savings.

Thanks for the List... I spoke with my publix manager and he told me that the penny item this week is supposed to be T/P

I stopped in to Publix on my way home today for the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs and used the $1.50/3 SS 3/15 and 2 Walgreen's Easy Saver Coupons $3/2 (I used 2 of these because I bought 4--I live in Florida). It brought the total to $0.12/each. The Walgreens coupons expire on Saturday though (3/28) so there is only a few day window to use them.

Also, I had a Target coupon for M&Ms in RP $1.50/3 on 3/15. Since it is a competitor it could be paired with the $1/2 RPs!

As a follow-up... I just remembered there is a coupon in Walgreen's Easy Saver for $1/2 M&Ms that expires on Saturday. Get your Easter Candy quick!

fyi: publix in tallahassee will only accept food lion and albertsons coupons through the end of this week. the manager told me it's because they are no longer competitors here.

also, i couldn't find the peelies for the nutrigrain bars or the taco bell dinner. any suggestions?

Holly, yuck for us. If the peelies are not there, yuck for us too. Which manager told you this (which store?)

Goodlife recipe cat food is on sale B1G1 4.49. You can get $3.00 coupons on the goodlife website. I was able to print 2, making this a great moneymaker!

Good job Jackie. I will add this. Good animal sheltar donation if you do not have a cat!

The printable on the chicken nuggets says the campaign is over. Also, on the Goodlife cat food, there is a $1 coupon and a $2 coupon; but no $3 coupon.

The goodlife coupon for catfood was a $2.00 printable when i went to the site not $3.00 but at b1g1 free at publix thats still a great deal!! Thank you!!

I just went on my weekly shopping trip and the cashier (we usually go through the same guy's line) told me he got in trouble for taking internet coupons that are over $1.00 in value! Anyone ever heard of that? Can they really turn away coupons over a certain value?

Frugal Coupon Living said...

Rachel what did the manager say.

Frugal Coupon Living said...

sweetannec...that doesn't suprise me. mine take it because target and walgreens on the same corner but some publix places only take other grocery store coupons.

The cashier hesitated on the Contessa coupons (because they were $2) and went and grabbed someone from the front desk who allowed him to accept them. I didn't get a chance to speak to the actual manager (I had my family in tow). I wrote an e-mail to corporate thanking them for their coupon policy but expressing my concerns over what happend today. I asked if the policy was changing. I'll let you know if or when I hear anything back. If I don't hear anything I'll see what happens next week.

...I just hate what happened because I don't want anyone to get in to trouble over what I'm doing. I'd hate to shop somewhere thinking every cashier is praying I don't come through their line so they won't get in trouble. I'm really saddened over my shopping experience today.

the penny item at our store today was publix tortilla chips.

Anne - Mommy Has to Work said...

what is the "penny item" how do you know?

Frugal Coupon Living said...

Sweetannec, my store/area/state doesn't do penny items :( I do not usually hightlight them. I think this week's was publix salad dressing. I guess a simple internet search should help you find this. sorrry.

Last month there was a special manufacturers coupon out for buy 2 bags of hersheys candy and get 1 free and they also had a b1g1 sale on it at the same time. I got 4 bags of candy and the coupon scanned fine at the register and then it just happened the manager was bagging and he saw my 4 bags of candy and made the cashier remove one of them. he said that I could only get 3 bags because of the coupon even though the sale was b1g1.After she removed it my total was the same so I lost a free bag of candy out of it. From my experience the manager should be wrong. Coupons should not override sales. Am I right?

I am having trouble printing from coupons.com. It will open a browser saying that my coupons are printing and to not close the browser, but they never print. I have tried several times and the same thing happens. This also happened at the Pompeian coupon. I was able to print the uncle ben's.

Also, when you click to print out the nestle coffee creamer, it states that no more coupons are available to print for that campaign on both the $1 and $1.50.
Thanks for the website! I hope to have better luck!

I got a call from the Publix Manager today. He informed me that the coupon policy keeps changing and at one time it was to only allow internet coupons up to $1 but now it is up to $5. He also assured me that he will speak to my regular cashier and let him know he is not in trouble. I feel a lot better after hearing from him. I'm probably letting things get to me more than they should because I'm 6 months pregnant... haha.

Coming from experience working in Finance for Sales & Marketing... sometimes I wonder if the reason some manager's don't like couponers is because although they get the money back from the manufacturer's it doesn't end up being included in their bonusable sales volume. Just a theory! It would explain a lot.

Frugal Coupon Living said...

Shannon, that is a tough one. It seems like the store policy should have been the same for you...but it sounds like you only bought 1 bag, right? I honestly don't know the right answer here.
