Publix - Send a Thanks Follow-up

Today, not only did I get an email, but I got a phone call from my personal Publix manager. He just wanted to thank me for my kind remarks and I was more than happy to thank him a second time for his wonderful coupon policy.
.
It is not too late to send Publix a thanks. See the post Here.

Publix - Send a Thanks!

I am currently creating the Publix list. It is late because I was the the seminar last night. Speaking of last night, it was a great turn out!
.
While creating the list, I had an idea. Let's all take today or tomorrow to write Publix and tell them we appreciate their competitor coupon policy. I am working on the list now and am so exciting about this week's bargains. I felt it necessary for us to let Publix know how much we appreciate them. I am sure 90% of their emails are from complaints (that is my estimation.) If we let them know we appreciate them they will continue to appreciate us.
.
So do me, you, and us all a favor and write Publix Here. It should take no more than 2 minutes of your time. The time you take to send your positive compliment will allow you to continue to save in the future.
.
Leave a comment and let us know you did it! Join the bandwagon!

Walgreens / Dove RR /Customer Service Update

Don't forget about the Walgreens / Dove RR deal Here. I mentioned in that post that it might be possible to get back RRs with trial sized items. Today the manager and I gave it a try and it actually does not work on trial sized items. Your best bet it to go with the Dove Beauty Bar soap (which is heavenly.)
.
Since I mentioned customer service in the previous post and knowing your stores (who likes couponers and who does not) let me tell you about the wonderful customer service experience I had at my local Walgreens today. First, I know this particular Walgreens if friendly and welcomes my coupons. The manager approached me today and asked me if I could give him a heads up of sales (he knows his sales but of what WE are buying) so he can go ahead and stock his shelves. While we were talking I asked him if our coupons upset him and he said no because the manufacturers ARE giving him back the money. He actually helped me check out and we tried the Dove deal, which we both discovered did not work with trial sizes. We continued to talk and I showed him the wonderful thing about stores who welcome couponers...we also buy things that are not matched with coupons. The two examples I showed him were my toilet paper and diapers. He got over $20 from me because I happened to be in this store (due to couponing) so I bought my toilet paper and diapers with him (using no coupons - great Walgreens sales, though.)
.
So over time, I have come to know those that work in the Walgreens stores and those that appreciate couponing. If your managers/cashiers truly understand the coupon process they will see that it is a win/win for everyone.
.
The managers win because we go in their store, use our coupons (which the manufacturers repay them for) and we also buy other items while we are in their store.
The manufacturers win because we are trying their products (often new products on the shelves) and are inclined to stay with their brand or stay with their product.
We win because we save money.
The community wins, because we bring home a lot more items for a lot less and are able to give back.

It is a win/win for all!

Knowing Your Rights (...and your Warranty)

As you might recall I was having trouble with my Dell laptop computer. Only 6 months old, the mouse/touch pad on the computer broke. When I called Dell, they informed me I did NOT own my computer and the Express Service Code I was giving them was for a computer they had sitting in their local warehouse (I take back the local, I was definitely speaking with someone in Eastern Asia.) Long story short, getting nowhere in my pursuit of help, I hired an advocated, and finally got my computer sent back in for repairs.

My computer was gone for 2 weeks. Once it returned to me the adapter and battery started acting funny. I had the computer plugged in, which it acknowledged, but it would not charge. I called Dell, called them again the next week and then started calling them every day. I was SO frustrated (but kind) when technician after technician had me do the same trouble shooting steps over and over. I was patient, however, keeping record of every technician's name, the date and the steps we took to troubleshoot this issue.

Today, I finally got my wish. I am having a LOCAL (yeah) repair man come to my house to replace my motherboard and adapter. Dell is not sure what is wrong but they will replace both just to be on the safe side. I am crossing my fingers.

I write this because I KNEW my warranty was running out in April. Had I procrastinated any longer, this LONG process (I began this process in November) might have just run over my warranty date and I might have found myself paying for these multiple repairs. I advice you to know the warranty dates for your big appliances/electronics. Do not procrastinate on getting things repaired and kindly demand good customer service. Patience, kindness, and perseverance will all get you very far.

Customer Service / Publix

I am on a roll with customer service this week. I called Publix (corporate) a couple days ago requesting the Kimberly Clark coupon flier ( I called many Publix's in my area and no one had them.) They took down my name, address, and telephone number. The next day I got a call telling me they would ship me one, today it arrived-with a nice little note. Once again, it pays to follow up!

PS Like I said in the last post, you can do these calls while cleaning your kitchen. It wastes no time.

Customer Service / York Photo Deal

I hate all the photo deals that go sour. I get annoyed when I post/email/or speak of a great photo deal only to find out that the code doesn't work, it can not be combined, it is for new customers only, etc.

I told you about this GREAT York phot deal Here. You get 50 prints for $1. When I entered the code L4ABUCK, it only took off $.60. It was supposed to take off something like $4. I was frustrated but ordered anyway because I had 20 free prints for signing up and needed photos for my baby's scrapbook. Today I got my prints in the mail (wow they are quick) and there was the code AGAIN on a certificate. I hunted down (I mean hunted-Google search and all) the phone number for York. The lady, a sweet lady named Donna, said she was refunding my order (shipping price, the extra prints I ordered in addition, tax and all) for my trouble. (I wasn't even requesting that - I was just calling confused about the code.)

There is a glitch with the code, it works when NEW customers order because they get 20 FREE prints, the other 30 prints combined with your order make all 50 prints for $1. Their mistake is they sent the code out to EXISTING customers.

Moral of the post, it really does help to take time to get quality customer service (I did this all while still getting things done around the house - I was cleaning my kitchen while talking to her.) There is always time to check an order, ask questions, etc. Be sweet, be kind, and explain clearly your problem. Good luck!

PS York's phone number is 301-595-5300 (that way you don't have to do an extensive internet search.)
PPS The photo quality was great!
