Walgreens - Huggies Deal

Hopefully you were able to print your $3 and $5 Huggies coupons two times for 4 coupons. I went to Walgreens today to check out the deal and here is what my transaction looked like

I Bought:
1) Three Huggies Gentle Care Diapers ($30)
2) Two Sambucol ($12.99)
Total:
$55.98
Minus Coupons:
1) Three $5 Huggies
2) ONE $10 IVC Walgreens (rings up to $20 off because I got two)
3) Two $4 Sambucol MFR
Total in Coupons:
$43.00
Total in Cash (I paid with a gift card):
$12.98
I Got Back:
$10 in RRs
I spent $2.98 on $36 worth of diapers and $24 worth offlu medications...can't complain! The Sambucol was a $1 MONEYMAKER for each one I bought.

You can get your Sambucol Coupon Here.
You can print your Huggies Coupon by clicking the icon below
(at this point you can only print two $5 coupons - go back to print it again)

how do you get register rewards at Walgreens? what is IVC?

If I purchase $25 in Huggies Products and then use the $5 off coupon, how does the $25 count towards getting the $10 RR? Is it before the coupons or after the coupons? Thanks!

Where is the Sambucol coupon? I couldn't find it through the link.

Kathryn, $25 BEFORE coupons.

Sanders, The RRs will print off a machine called a Catalina machine. It is right by the Register...don't worry, it will work. If not, tell them you should have received it, the machine could be broken...if it is, ask to go to another register...This has happened to me only once.

how did you get 2 $10 ivc? where do they come from?

I was also curious about what exactly IVC is. You stated it's an "Instant Value Coupon", I'm just not sure how you got it.

Thank for all your helpful tips. I saved $20 on todays $60 grocery bill. I'm pretty proud of this since this was my first week. :o) I think I gave my husband a taste for saving money too.

Lasko and Megan, IVC is an instant value coupno found in the monthly easy saver catalog. It is found in the store where the weekly fliers are. Walgreens coupons only need to be scanned once and will subtract however many of the items you got. The machine scaned 1 Sambucol $10 coupon and knew I bought 2 Sambucols and erased $20.

That is very good to know.
Thank you for the explanation. :o)

Fruitese shampoo is also .99 after IVC and there are two 1.00 off coupons in this Sunday's paper to make them free.

I have the March EasySaver Catalog and can not find the IVC. Also, when the RR's print, do you use them on that purchase, or the next? Sorry if that is a stupid question. Thank you so much:)

Okay I'm totally confused about Walgreens and how this works, however, I'll just ask...so you can print off 3 $5 huggies coupons and use them all at the same time? Sorry, I am so new at this. Thank you frugal mom for all of your tips. I saw you on Dr. Phil and now I'm hooked!

Renae,
You will use the RRs on another transaction. The IVCs (Instant value coupons) are in the front of the easy saver catalog. Be careful the RRs do expire.

Millerjess, unless you printed some $5 coupons earlier, at this point you can only print 2 $5 coupons (the reset earlier in the week so some readers were able to print them twice two times totally 4.) You can use all 3 at the same time.

Just a tip....if you have both Internet Explorer and Firefox you can print twice the coupons! Print once by going on coupons.com using Firefox and then once using Internet Explorer. Also, if you have two computers (I have a laptop and desktop) you can multiply your coupons again by using a different computer using both web browsers. I got a lot of $5 off Huggies coupons this way!

I just have a question on the Huggies coupon...at the bottom of the coupon it says that you can only use one coupon per transaction. Have you ever had a problem with using multiples of the same coupon in one transaction?

RDeemy - maybe one time in a year's time has a cashier given me trouble on this...they still scan, they still allow them. remember the get the money back from the manufacturer. I do not know why the coupon states that.

So, are the RR for buying 3 packs of the diapers?

Laura, For buying at least $25 worth of Huggies products.

I went to Walgreens (Orlando, FL) today and bought
25.00 of Huggies Diapers and wipes (coupons off brought the total to ~ 14.00)and the manager told me that I cannot get my RR unless the total after coupons and tax was over 25.00. I am getting conflicting info since on this site I see it to be the total prior to coupons. Is it store specific or was the manager misinformed? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Flmom, the total must be $25 BEFORE coupons. That manager is mistaken. Did you try it anyways? I would tell the manager you would like to try it and return what you purchase if this is true. Try another Walgreens tomorrow. Watch it will work...if the RRs do not print it is because the machine is broken.

I went last night and the cashier told me it wouldn't work unless the total was $25 after coupons so I would need to buy 4 packs. I'm going to try a different one today.

It worked! I bought 3 packs of Huggies and gave them 3 $5 coupons, they rang in all the coupons and I got the $10 RR after my purchase. So it must be correct that its $25 before coupons! How exciting! I guess it never occurred to me that you could use more than one coupon within 1 transaction. Does that work everywhere? Thanks so much for the tip!

Ashley,
I need help with the moneymaker deal. I was told by Walgreens and Wal-Mart that they will not adjust the price down on another item or my purchase total. They also said that my item has to be over the amount of my coupon or I can't use it. What is the right thing to do, I agree with breaking even, but if I have this right, I would like to know. Thanks again!!

Renae, it really does depend on the store location. Try some other stores... if none allow this to happen, just realize you will get a lot of items for FREE and not make money. P.S. It can depend on the cashier too. I wish I could help more.
