My parents visited one a while back and it's not like what they advertise because you have to pay a huge membership fee that starts around $2500!!! If you are doing a ton of remodeling, you might recoup the money, but for the average person wanting to save money, it totally is NOT worth it!

In addition to the membership if your product has to be ordered the shipping is rediculous. We bought a loft bed for my daughter and the freight which we did not get the price for up front was half the cost of the bed. it was several years ago so i hope things have changed and it works out for you.

The memebership is high around $2500..my sis friend tryed this and said its just not worth it unless you r doing ALOT of remodleing this was a few years ago though. Mayb they changed.

Yep, I've heard the start-up/membership cost can be as high as $4000. I'm told it's only good for those doing major remodels or building a new home, etc.

Oh my goodness, please don't do it! I've had family members sign up for this only to regret it later! My parents signed up and had to pay a $4,500 to start up. They haven't seen the huge discounts that are advertised and have found the same deals or better deals just by shopping around!

My step mother is a member but she pd $5,000 to join! She said its really nice top of the line stuff. But I think if you are frugal you can get great stuff cheap anyway w/out joining.

The company does not appear to be very popular with many of our readers - I am choosing to keep the ad up incase others want to be informed of their offers. I personally do want to see what is in the package they send so I signed up. It might be a deal you are interested in throwing out.

I know DirectBuy well- yes, it is more of a deal for those looking to do home remodeling or building HOWEVER they are in the midst of changing thier membership prices AND they have a NEW executive managment at Corporate with this there will be many appealing changes. I've seen the catalog and I am a huge bargain finder and I must say the prices are wholesale and cheaper than any sale you will find, you do have to pay for shipping separate. If you are considering some big ticket purchases then join, if not you may want to hold off to see what they do with membership changes. NOTE: if you go and decide NOT to join that very day you can NOT join ever! serious- so you may want to wait to check them out until you have some big ticket purchases in mind. (I do hope they change the do it now or never- I don't like that tactic.)
