Florida Residents, if you have a birthday in August, September, October or November consider renewing your license plate for a few years (instead of just a year) during the month of August. Starting September 1, the state is increasing license plate renewals $16 to $25 depending on the size of your vehicle. This is one way the state is making up for budget shortfalls. You can only renew your plate 3 months in advance so any other birthdays don't qualify...I tried. You do this through the DMV or Tax Collector office in your area.

Very convenient that they increase it early enough that all the large Trucks (which all renew in Dec not by your birthday) will have to renew under the new rate. Thanks for the info though
